Member Spotlight: Stefany Lovercamp

This month, we are highlighting a member who has been part of MoASBO for seven years, having joined in 2018. Stefany Lovercamp has made significant contributions by presenting at conferences and participating in local and regional meetings.

Let's Get to Know Stefany:

Favorite Part of Being a Business Manager: One of the highlights of my role is the variety it brings and the opportunity to understand how all the pieces fit together. I take great pride in providing support from behind the scenes, ensuring that fellow staff members can navigate financial processes smoothly.

Challenges of Being a Business Manager: Being a business manager is not without its challenges; working in school finance can sometimes feel isolating.

Achievements to Be Proud Of: Among my accomplishments, I am particularly proud of developing digitized procedures that have transformed how staff handle finances. This includes implementing online requisitions, credit card usage, and enhanced reporting tools for coaches, sponsors, and staff. I take pride in being a go-to resource for questions, highlighting the importance of a business manager's role as a supportive presence in the education system.

Spare Time Activities: In my spare time, I enjoy reading, completing puzzles, and spending quality moments with my family, which includes my husband, our two dogs, one cat, and my 22-year-old son whenever he can find some time or needs food.

Advice for New School Business Professionals: For those new to school finance, my advice is to network, engage with MoASBO, and connect with peers in similar roles. Attending regional meetings can be incredibly beneficial for addressing questions and combating the feelings of isolation that often accompany the job.

The Impact of MoASBO: MoASBO has provided a crucial community for me, filled with people who genuinely understand the challenges faced in school finance. I look forward to the fall support staff conference each year, as it remains my favorite event for networking and learning. Additionally, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of attending regional meetings and developing a support group, as it is vital to success.
