Member Spotlight: Let's Meet Bob Citro

Member Spotlight: Let's Meet Bob Citro

Meet Bob Citro, the Director of Administrative Services of the Liberty Public Schools. He has been a member of the Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) for 23 years.

Bob believes it's important to develop a network of MoASBO members that you can call for help, or know they can call you for help. "Take the steps to put yourself out there and build your network. MoASBO conferences, regional meetings, and the online community discussion board are great ways to start," said Bob.

Let's get to know Bob a bit better:

Question 1: What do you love about your job?

Response: I love helping people! However, my favorite part of the job is when I interact with the little ones at our early childhood center. Children are full of energy and love; they fill my bucket!!

Question 2: Can you share an achievement that makes you proud?

Response:  It's hard to select just one moment. For me, every day that I can help makes me proud. Having my colleagues appreciate my support is more valuable than any award.

Question 3: In your spare time, what activities do you enjoy?

Response: I love cooking, singing in the church choir, and recently camping in my new RV. The hope is that retirement will bring more adventures across the country!!!

Question 4: What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Response: My job is to liaise between financial and technology people. The most difficult thing is helping to "translate" between "financial speak" and "tech speak." Often, they have the same acronyms that mean different things.

Question 5: Do you have a piece of advice to share?

Response: The school finance world is nothing like you've ever experienced before - ask for help and don't take yourself too seriously.
