Meet the 2025-26 New Board Members

Members of MoASBO have elected three new directors to the board for the 2025-26 term. These newly elected directors were introduced at the 2025 MoASBO Annual Spring Conference, held at the Lake of the Ozarks, and will serve a two-year term.

Meet the Newly Elected Directors:

Dr. Jordan Dickey currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Finance for Joplin Schools, where she oversees the district's financial operations and strategic planning. A 2009 graduate of Liberal High School in Liberal, Missouri, she earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Arkansas in 2022, specializing her dissertation research on teacher retention and turnover in small, rural schools. Jordan's educational journey includes advanced degrees from Pittsburg State University and Missouri State University, enhancing her expertise in educational leadership and administration. She has shown a strong commitment to rural education, having served as Superintendent of the Bronaugh R-VII School District for four years before advancing to her current position in Joplin. Jordan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the MoASBO. She has presented at numerous conferences on topics including federal programs and teacher retention. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jordan enjoys family life with her husband, Chance, and their two sons, Easton and Archer, while remaining actively involved in community organizations throughout Southwest Missouri.

 

 

Dr. Emily Miller is concluding her third year as the Superintendent for the Kearney School District. Prior to her current role, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Operational Services for the Lee's Summit R-7 School District, a position she assumed in 2018. She was the Interim Superintendent for the 2019-2020 academic year. Dr. Miller previously held the position of Assistant Superintendent of Special Services at LSR7 for six years and has also served as Director of Special Education at both the Santa Ynez Valley Special Education Consortium and the Harrisonville Cass R-IX School District. She began her career in education as a special education teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia.

 

 

 

Jacqueline (Jacqui) Vernon is the Executive Director of Business Operations for the Raytown C-2 School District. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration – Management. Jacqui is a member of both the International ASBO and MoASBO. She actively participates in the MoASBO Membership Committee and has attended PD Committee meetings. Since 2019, she has presented at several MoASBO conferences. Jacqui completed the MoASBO Administrative Leadership Development Program in the spring of 2021 and took part in a MoASBO cohort for prospective SFO candidates in 2022. She received her SFO certification in May 2024 and served as the facilitator for KCASBO during the 2024-2025 term.
