A Message from MoASBO Executive Director
Dear Colleagues,
 
How often do you get asked, "What are you doing now that school's out?"  How often are you tempted to sarcastically reply, "Not a thing...just sitting around, eating chocolates and looking for something to do."😫
 
In case you've ever wondered what the MoASBO staff does during the summer, we:
 
  • Finalize plans - conferences, workshops and webinars must be set for the upcoming year
  • Recruit new members - while this is an ongoing process, we push to get people registered for membership in July so they can enjoy 12 full months of MoASBO benefits
  • Meet with committees and the board - we review the work of the past year and make appropriate updates or revisions to the strategic plan
  • Meet for a staff retreat - we review and update project plans; discuss future events; build our team
  • Support ASBOI events/conferences 
 
This summer, we have some special projects that include launching an updated website; engaging in an in-depth review of the strategic plan; and, preparing for two new programs.
 
Women in School Finance Symposium:
Connect with leaders, advance your career and be supported by your peers when we meet in St. Charles, MO. on Dec. 5-6. Thursday, Dec. 5, we’ll meet informally for a social event in the evening. Friday, Dec.  6, will be a day filled with roundtable discussions, speakers and more. Be a part of this inaugural MoASBO experience as we build a strong support network of women leaders.
 
Leadership Learning Institute Program:
MoASBO's Leadership Learning Institute is an interactive year-long program that offers a transformative journey for school leaders and individuals aspiring to leadership roles in their district. Learn more
 
While summer is a busy time for all of us, I do hope you make some time to take care of yourself. These months will pass quickly and before you know it, the teachers and students will be back.
