What You Don't Know You Don't Know about the Governor's Plan to Raise Teacher Salaries

In Gov. Parson's 2022 State of the State speech, he put forward a plan to raise the starting pay for Missouri teachers. He included $21. 8 million in his proposed budget to increase the minimum pay from the current $25,000 to $38,000 annually.

Although the state House Budget Committee has removed the governor's plan to boost teacher minimum pay, lawmakers are continuing to work on the state budget.  It is possible this budget line item could be reinstated.
