EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or equivalent and three to five years payroll experience required. Missouri Public School District payroll and PEERS/PSRS Oasis reporting preferred. SUMMARY: Works with limited supervision while providing accurate and systematic payroll services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Process certified and support staff payroll including the payment of salaries, insurance, annuities, garnishments, taxes and other deductions accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain direct deposit information for all employees and initiate the direct deposit file for each payroll in a timely manner. Maintain employees’ Health Savings Account information and initiate file for each payroll in a timely manner. Prepare and make federal, state and local tax deposits for each pay period. Input various deduction and benefit changes, such as tax withholding, garnishments, insurance payments, etc. Assist with reconciliation of employee benefits from payroll to vendor invoice Maintain hourly employees in a timekeeping system. Monitor and balance all payroll accounts. Prepare required tax reports including the quarterly 941 report, quarterly unemployment compensation report, monthly state and local tax reports and annual W-2 forms. Responsible for maintaining OASIS retirement reporting system and reconciling retirement payments monthly and annually. Work with representatives of government, employee unions and retirement agencies to provide information. Respond to staff questions and concerns about payroll and deductions. Other duties as assigned.
