Springfield Public Schools is Hiring a Bond Projects Manager.

Purpose Statement The Springfield, Missouri Public School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manager, Bond Projects. The Springfield School District is Missouri’s largest public school district and has built a reputation of academic excellence based on the outstanding performance of our students and schools.

About 25,000 students attend 36 elementary schools, an intermediate school, 9 middle schools, 5 high schools, and a variety of alternative education and choice programs. The job of Manager, Bond Projects is done for the purpose/s of managing all phases of the assigned bond construction projects; managing assigned professional and support staff; directing and overseeing the work of architects, engineers, and other contractors; ensuring that specifications are being followed; and scheduling work assignments within established time frames and budget.

Essential Functions

 Controls bond project activities, construction schedule, and associated costs for the purpose of achieving completion of projects within time frames and budget allocated and in compliance with established requirements.

 Develops cost-effective plans and schedules for the completion of bond projects for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources.

 Coordinates with facilities department functions and the work of professional and support staff for the purpose of prioritizing project deadlines, and ensuring that bond projects are completed on time and within specifications.

 Implements and manages assigned activities and/or projects for the purpose of complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

 Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records (e.g. architectural publications, building drawings, material samples, district directives, job related communications, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

 Oversees performance of contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings for the purpose of making sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.

 Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions on issues that relate to construction projects for the purpose of providing information and/or direction for making decisions within the district's construction program.

 Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns, or needs related to projects.

 Reviews and interprets a variety of budgetary information and technical information (e.g. purchase orders, contracts, bids, project schedules, designs, building codes, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring vendor compliance with established guidelines.

 Serves as the liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, site administrators, and department heads for the purpose of discussing modifications and adequate solutions to project problems, and monitoring and documenting change orders from initiation to completion of construction and payment.
