Jacqui Vernon Named 2022 Emerging Leader of the Year
MoASBO Announces the Emerging Leader of the Year
The Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) announced Jacqui Vernon as this year's Emerging Leader of the Year. Vernon was nominated by her peers for exhibiting qualities and attributes that reflect dedication, collaboration and leadership contributions to her district and community. Jacqui Vernon is a Finance supervisor for the Raytown Quality School District. Jacqui has been in her current leadership role for four years. During her first year in Raytown, Jacqui was responsible for implementing DESE’s new account code requirements. Since then, she and her department updated the district’s financial procedures for clearer accountability and consistency. Due to a dedicated team, of which Jacqui was a member, Raytown Quality School District earned their first Meritorious Budget Award for their FY22 budget.
Jacqui Vernon serves on the MoASBO Membership Committee and has completed the Administrative Leadership Development Program. Vernon is now focused on earning her SFO certification. Recognition committee chair, Kelly Genge, commented, "This award recognizes newer school business professionals who are committed to leading with integrity and continuous improvement. Jacqui exemplifies those qualities."
In partnership with ASBOI, MoASBO submitted Vernon for the ASBOI’s Emerging Leader Program.
