MoASBO Announces the Business Official of the Year

The Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) announced Carol Embree, SFO, RSBA, as the 2021 Business Official of the Year.  Embree is the deputy superintendent of Operations for the Springfield Public School.  This year marks her 29th year of service as a school business official for children in the State of Missouri.
Carol EmbreeEmbree is a Certified School Finance and Operations Official through the Association of School Business Officials International. As the deputy superintendent of Operations, her areas of responsibility include financial management of a $320 million operating budget, strategic planning, construction management, facility services, human resources, business services, transportation, nutrition services, custodial and grounds services, purchasing and distribution, and risk management.  
According to Kelly Genge, MoASBO recognition committee chair, MoASBO strives to recognize those who are dedicated to serving their district and colleagues." Carol Embree has been an active member of MoASBO since 1995. She has served on the association's board of directors, the Spring Conference Committee, and the Audit Committee.” 
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Carol Embree said.  “Through the MoASBO organization I have connected with leaders throughout the state, have grown through professional learning, and have formed friendships for a lifetime. For all these things, I am grateful.”
Embree previously served in Clinton, Blue Springs and Liberty.  Embree is retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
